Calendar alert! Anne Paris Lecture on November 12th

Have you ever experienced blocks to your creativity, or procrastinated “starting”? Anne Paris, PhD, local psychologist and author of STANDING AT WATER’S EDGE: MOVING PAST FEAR, BLOCKS, AND PITFALLS TO DISCOVER THE POWER OF CREATIVE IMMERSION (2008, San Francisco: New World Library), will discuss her new ideas about igniting the creative process. Dr. Paris draws on her extensive experience working with artists and, contrary to the stereotype of the isolated, alienated artist, argues that connection is the key to immersing into creativity. She highlights the importance of certain kinds of relationships throughout a creative project, and helps artists recognize what they need in order to start and finish their greatest projects. Although targeted to artists, her ideas are easily extended to anyone who is blocked from moving forward toward their dreams and passions.
